Mspa Inflatable Hot Tub FAQ

General Questions

MSpa has the most extensive product line in the portable spa industry. From the most cost-effective COMFORT series to the highly intelligent and luxurious FRAME series, it is easy to find the model of your choice in terms of performance, functionality, leather and styling.

COMFORT
The budget-friendly line with the most classic styling and practical features.

URBAN
A line of intelligent models incorporating the latest technologies that you can only find in MSpa (M-One smart tub, O-Zone generator, etc.), designed to bring you a sophisticated lifestyle and comfortable hydrotherapy experience.

PREMIUM
The unparalleled leather styling covers and unique features make PREMIUM the most iconic line of MSpa. It is the perfect choice for modern décor and decent lifestyle.

FRAME
The FRAME series features a distinctive design and extremely durable pool material. The clean and crisp looks make them perfectly match a modern style home. This is the best choice if you want a spa unlike any other.

Both constructions provide excellent stability. The I-Beam construction offers a soft and comfortable tub while the DWF(double-wall fabric) construction makes the tub more steady. All materials used for our MSpa have been sourced with quality and comfort in mind. Each material used is highly durable and offers superior strength.

It depends on the model you choose. You can find the number of people who can fit into an MSpa by using the hot-tub-finder.

An MSpa is not a toy pool so it is not suitable for children under 8 years old. Children over 8 years old, must be supervised at all times and must be comfortably tall enough to stand on the bottom and have their heads out of the water. We recommend that children over 8 years old only use a MSpa for a maximum of 10 minutes at a time.

Air Jet (bubbling massage system) utilizes a “massage seam” which is an extra air pocket that encircles the bottom of the spa. This will not inflate when the liner is inflated and instead is a material tube which includes tiny holes. When the bubble function is selected the pump pushes very high-pressure air through this tube. The air escapes through the included holes causing the air bubbling massage. All MSpa models come with Air Jet bubbling massage system.

Hydro Jet includes jet nozzles in positions within the liner. When this function is turned on, the pump circulates a high-pressure combination of water and air which is then released through the jets. These jets can be adjusted in both directions and pressure. Our MUSE series come with both Air Jet and Hydro Jet system to provide a vigorous massage.

All MSpa models released in 2019 and onwards come with the Power Saving Timer.

All MSpa models (expect TUSCANY) released in 2020 and onwards come with a cushioned floor. EXOTIC and all models of URBAN/FRAME series come with extra cushion seats to provide great comfort during periods of long use.

The cushioning in the base of the spa is suitable for periods of extended use. MSpa non-slip bottom provides extra friction between the foot and the spa floor. For those who suffer from arthritis or struggle to move, we recommend an MSpa Wicker Step as it can provide extra assistance and support when entering and exiting the spa.

An MSpa can be enjoyed for many years if it is well maintained and cared for. We recommend that you pack away and store your MSpa correctly if it’s not used in colder months.

It depends on the model you choose. You can find the exact filled weight of an MSpa in each product listing. When placing your hot tub on a raised platform, you should consider this weight plus the weight of the users at maximum capacity.

Filtration + Heating < 60dB
Air Bubbling Massage < 72dB
Hydro Massage < 72dB

We have plenty of accessories to choose from for an MSpa. Including Heat Preservation Mat, Ice Box and Snack Holder, Floating Lamp, and Wicker Surrounding Units. Explore MSpa Accessories and see how you can customize an MSpa to suit your needs.

The frequency of changing the water really varies depending on how often you use the spa and how effectively you maintain your water with chemicals. We recommend you to change your hot tub water at least once every 2 months. The frequency of water changes can be reduced by keeping the spa covered when not in use, testing the water regularly to ensure proper chemical balance, operating the pump for an adequate number of hours each day, keeping the filter pump cartridge clean, and replacing the cartridge when needed.

Outdoor Usage

Yes you can.
All MSpa models are equipped with Anti-icing System since 2020. When the water temperature drops below 1°C/33.8°F, the ANTI-ICING System automatically activates your pump and heats up the water to 3°C/37.4°F. This will help prevent water and pipes from freezing so you can use your MSpa all year round.
Please do NOT leave your MSpa unused, with no power, when temperatures drop below 4°C/39°F.

We strongly recommend you to position your MSpa in a sheltered location which will protect your hot tub from too much sunlight. If your spa is setup in direct sunlight, please let out some of the air and make sure you use the top lid when not in use.
Please be aware that should any damage occur to your MSpa due to sun exposure, this unfortunately will not be covered by warranty.

Drain and deflate the spa, clean it with a mild non-abrasive cleaner, and then rinse thoroughly. After the spa is dry, put it into the original box with all accessories.
Store the spa and accessories in a dry, temperature-controlled environment, between 4°C and 40°C (39°F – 104°F). We recommend storing the spa with desiccant.

Yes, an MSpa control box is waterproof, however, if you are expecting a very large amount of rain or bad weather it is recommended that you bring the spa and control box indoors. Constant adverse weather conditions could damage your spa and control box.

Hot Tub Safety

You should always use a grounded socket with PRCD protection. All of our pumps come with a built-in RCD unit as a safety measure. The socket that the hot tub is being plugged in to should be grounded and at least 4 meters away, at a height of at least 1.2m from the ground. We recommend getting a qualified electrician to install a grounded outdoor waterproof socket with RCD protection (this should always be done by a qualified electrician).

No, extension cables cannot be used with MSpa. The MSpa pumps come with a 5.1-meter/ 16.73 feet cable which is usually sufficient for customers to reach their nearest grounded socket with RCD protection. If the cable is not long enough, we recommend getting a qualified electrician to install a grounded outdoor socket with RCD protection. The socket that the hot tub is being plugged in to should be grounded and at least 4 meters away, at a height of at least 1.2m from the ground.

All of our spas are fitted with a plug and a PRCD (portable residual current device) with a tripping current of 10mA. This is a cut-out device in the event that water comes into contact with the electrical supply to your inflatable hot tub.

Yes, the entire MSpa applies to an IPX5 waterproof standard, however, it should not be left sitting in deep puddles of water or exposed to heavy continuous rainfall.

People with an infectious disease should not use a spa or hot tub.

The following people need to consult a doctor before using the spa:

Obese persons or persons with a history of heart disease, low or high blood pressure, circulatory system problems, or diabetes;
Pregnant women; (It is not recommended to use a hot tub during the early months of pregnancy, If you get the doctor’s permission, please always limit the spa water temperature to 38°C (100°F).)
Persons using medication should consult a physician before using a spa since some medication may induce drowsiness or affect the heart rate, blood pressure, or circulation.

Setting Up

We bet you cannot find any other hot tub as easy to set up as an MSpa is. Thanks to the world’s first built-in pump system, MSpa hot tubs allow you to skip the annoying pipe connection and pump installation and complete inflation by just pressing one button. Please refer to your user manual for specific set up information or watch our how-to videos.

Yes, an MSpa needs to be placed on a completely flat and solid surface.

Suitable Surface: A smooth, flat, even surface that is capable of uniformly supporting the entire filled weight of your MSpa plus the weight of the users. Positioning your MSpa on an uneven surface can cause unequal pressure on one side of the hot tub which will increase the likelihood of your liner failing.

Power Supply: You need to consider having a power supply that is close enough for the cable to reach (approx. length of the cable is 5.1m) but also far enough away so that water cannot splash into the socket.

Surroundings: placing your MSpa near a windbreak such as a fence will help to reduce wind exposure, helping it to retain more heat and in turn help to reduce your running costs. You should also consider where you will drain the water when required.

It depends on your water pressure and MSpa model. Usually a 6-person model will take approximately 1 hour to fill up to the minimum water line.

This can vary greatly depending on the temperature of fresh water that goes into the hot tub, the ambient air temperature and which MSpa model you have (the higher the capacity of water, the longer the hot tub will take to heat up).

The MSpa heats the water via a circulating pump and heats up at approx. 1.5-2°C/h (3-4°F/h) per hour. Ensuring that the spa is well insulated and that the Lid is on will also greatly help!

Yes, all MSpa can heat and use the Air Bubble Massage system at the same time.

Yes, our patented Hydro Massage System allows users to turn on heating and Hydro Jets at the same time so you can enjoy the unparalleled hydro massaging without loosing any warmth.

The MSpa serial number can be found on the back of your spa’s controller or on one of the feet of the engine block.

No. Standard consumer warranty applies only to the first owner.

Taking Care of Hot Tub

The frequency of changing the water really varies depending on how often you use the spa and how effectively you maintain your water with chemicals. We recommend you to change your hot tub water at least once every 2 months. The frequency of water changes can be reduced by keeping the spa covered when not in use, testing the water regularly to ensure proper chemical balance, operating the pump for an adequate number of hours each day, keeping the filter pump cartridge clean, and replacing the cartridge when needed.

Our range of inflatable hot tubs are very easy to maintain and are all supplied with a user manual with maintenance instructions to help you get the best from your purchase. You can also watch the instructions videos by visiting MSPA SUPPORT.

It can vary depending on the frequency of usage and the electricity rate in different areas. We estimate it can cost around €8 – €10 a week to run based on feedback we have had from our customers.

Yes, if you are using your spa frequently, we recommend leaving the heat and filter on all the time as this is the most cost‑effective in the long run.
If you use your MSpa less regularly, it is suggested to use our Power Saving Timer which lets you control your heating in advance.

NOTE: When temperatures drop below 4°C/39°F and you are not intend to use your spa for an extended period of time, please turn off, drain and store your spa properly.

No, once the setup is completed, an MSpa does not require power to be on constantly to be kept inflated.

It depends on their maintenance regime and water conditions. A filter should be cleaned after every use or at least every other day.

The entire MSpa is waterproof. However, if you are expecting a very large amount of rain or bad weather it is recommended that you bring the spa indoors. Constant adverse weather conditions could damage the spa and pump and they should not be used in temperatures below 4°C.

Please check the MSpa distributers network and MSpa service center list.

Yes, no matter how often or long you plan to use your hot tub, it is essential to treat the water in your MSpa using Chemicals. If you left your MSpa water without any treatment, it would soon become uncomfortable, unclean and potentially dangerous even just to passers-by.

Chemicals are a highly effective way to treat your MSpa, as they eliminate any harmful bacteria that can grow in warm water. (It takes you only 5-10 minutes per week for water maintenance by using MSpa all-in-one water treament package.)

Chlorine or bromine is a powerful sanitizer which is necessary to keep your hot tub clean and healthy. However, chlorine and bromine sanitizing products shall never be mixed up together in MSpa. Make sure you drain the spa and refill it with fresh water before switching chlorine to bromine, and vice versa.

You can use the MSpa all-in-one chemical treatment kit. Chemicals from other brands will also work. Please read carefully and follow the user guide provided by the manufacturers.
